 Uma das premiações mais excêntricas de Hollywood resolveu se adiantar esse ano e entregar seus prêmios antes de o ano terminar! O primeiro ponto que é importante ressaltar, é que o Satellite mudou algumas de suas regras desde a edição passada: fez 22 categorias ao todo, criando a categoria de Melhor Filme em Comédia ou Musical e Melhor Filme Estrangeiro, e nenhum filme pode competir em duas categorias. Sendo assim, teremos 3 vencedores de Melhor Filme. Agora vamos lá, vale lembrar que no ano passado eles fizeram a previsão de alguns prêmios importantes do Oscar 2019, como Melhor Ator, Melhor Atriz, Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante, Melhor Diretor, Melhor Filme Estrangeiro e Melhor Canção Original. E, para começar, "Ford vs Ferrari" - surpreendeu - e levou 5 prêmios, se tornando o grande vencedor da noite. O filme conquistou os prêmios de Melhor Filme Drama, Melhor Edição, Melhor Som, Melhor Ator Drama para Christian Bale e Melhor Diretor para James Mangold. O vencedor em Melhor Filme de Comédia ou Musical foi "Era Uma Vez em Hollywood", que não venceu mais nada. Os prêmios de Melhor Atriz foram para Awkwafina ("The Farewell") e Scarlett Johansson, que aliás, "História de Um Casamento" venceu também o prêmio de Melhor Roteiro Original. Outro filme com duas vitórias foi "Coringa", que venceu em Roteiro Adaptado e Trilha Sonora.
