"Fire of Love" lidera com 7 indicações o Critics Choice Documentary Awards, um dos termômetros para o Oscar 2023 de Melhor Documentário!

Temos nossa primeira premiação e, junto com ela, a temporada se inicia para os documentários! Critics Choice Awards é uma premiação bem conhecida e já faz parte do nosso calendário anual. Mas, desde 6 anos atrás, começaram também a premiação especial para documentários! 

Logo na primeira edição já acertaram a sincronia com o Oscar, dando 3 prêmios para o filme "O.J.: Made in America"!

No ano passado, quatro dos indicados ao Oscar foram indicados aqui como Melhor Documentário. E o vencedor do Oscar, "Summer of Soul", venceu 6 prêmios no Critics: Melhor Documentário, Melhor Documentário Musical, Melhor Documentário de Arquivo, Melhor Primeiro Documentário, Melhor Edição e Melhor Direção.

Esses acertos comparados com a Academia e com diversas das outras premiações que vieram depois, nos fizeram decidir prestar atenção definitiva na premiação e, a partir de hoje, o Termômetro Oscar 2023 de Melhor Documentário está começando!

O líder de indicações desse ano é o filme "Fire of Love" com 7 indicações cada. O filme foi premiado em Sundance, e encontrou prêmios e exibições em festivais do mundo todo, como Atenas, São Francisco, Sidney e Seattle.

O documentário apresenta a história dos desteminos e apaixonados cientistas Katia e Maurice Krafft, que morreram em uma explosão vulcânica fazendo exatamente o que os uniu: desvendando os mistérios dos vulcões e capturando imagens impressionantes. O filme conta com um arquivo de imagens raras do casal, bem como escritos e ilustrações coletadas para mapear suas aventuras, descobertas científicas e profundo vínculo emocional, construído tendo como base as mais de 200 horas de filmagem que o casal gravou ao longo de 20 anos de trabalho e amor.
