Festival de Toronto 2023: Seleção oficial divulgada, com destaque para Alexander Payne e Richard Linklater, e a estreia na direção de Anna Kendrick!

O Festival de Toronto acaba de dar um pontapé inicial para corrida do Oscar 2024 e divulgou a sua tão aguardada seleção oficial! 

Dentre todas as especulações, e o medo de que alguns filmes deixassem a temporada, algumas apostas interessantes se confirmaram entre os filmes em competição como Alexander Payne com "The Holdovers", Craig Gillespie que estreia com "Dumb Money", George C. Wolfe com "Rustin" e Richard Linklater com sua nova comédia "Hitman". Ah, e claro, Taika Waititi com o filme de abertura, "Next Goal Wins".

Legal salientarmos também o tanto de atores que passam por Toronto esse ano na cadeira da direção! Michael Keaton lança "Knox Goes Away", Chris Pine dirige "Poolman", Viggo Mortensen lança seu segundo filme na direção com "The Dead Don't Hurt", Kristin Scott Thomas é diretora em "North Star", Ethan Hawke dirige sua filha Maya Hawke em "Wildcat" e Anna Kendrick estreia na direção com "Woman of the Hour".

Lembrando que ano passado tivemos vários filmes do Oscar em Toronto! Nomes como "Nada de Novo no Front", "Os Banshees de Inisherin", "Os Fabelmans" e "A Baleia".
