Um total de 31 longas-metragens de animação, 169 documentários e 85 longas-metragens internacionais são elegíveis para indicações ao Oscar 2025, confirmou a Academia de Artes e Ciências Cinematográficas.
Na categoria de Melhor Animação, filmes de estúdio de alto nível como "Divertida Mente 2" da Disney/Pixar e "Robô Selvagem" da Universal/DreamWorks e indies aclamados como "Memoir of a Snail", estão presentes, e por enquanto lideram as apostas. A corrida de documentários, enquanto isso, inclui títulos que dominaram os prêmios que já tivemos até então, como o líder de indicações "Sugarcane" da Nat Geo, "Daughters" da Netflix, e "Black Box Diaries" da MTV. Outros bem comentados como "Will & Harper" da Netflix e "Super/Man: A História de Christopher Reeves", também estão presentes. Finalmente, a corrida de longas internacionais inclui as inscrições amplamente elogiadas da França ("Emilia Pérez"), Brasil ("Ainda Estou Aqui") e Alemanha ("The Seed of the Sacred Fig"). Como vimos semanas atrás, China está fora da lista por ter mais de 50% de diálogos em inglês, e a Jordânia se retirou do Oscar por questões políticas.
